7 key highlights from the manifesto

1) Full statehood to Delhi: This would bring police and ‘law and order’ under the control of Delhi government from central government.

2) Electricity, Water and Sanitation: Electricity bill will be halved, 700 litres of free water will be given to each household and a comprehensive sanitation, sewage and solid management plant for every living establishment in Delhi.

3) Education system: 500 new schools, 20 new colleges will be opened, transparency in Nursery and KG admission and a tab on school free structure.

4) Healthcare: Healthcards, free ambulance, eradication of Dengue and a 24 hour helpline will be provided to Delhi residents.

5) Women’s right and safety: Adequate street lighting, CCTVs in public space including buses and setting up of Woman’s security force among other measurements.

6) Wifi City: Delhi will be made a wi-fi city with free access to all residents.

7) Jan Lokpal bill: AAP has once again resolved to pass Jan Lokpal bill that would put all public officials, including Chief Minsters, Ministers and MLAs, under that purview of investigation. more

In addition to fighting with Power distribution companies, Govt. should take some serious action in implementation of solar panels at every roof top. It should become mandatory to install Solar Panels for certain income group families. Govt. should provide cheap loans and subsidies to install solar panels instead of giving money to Power distribution companies. more
Delhi Government should implement Decision-Support systems for better Governance (rural & urban development, law enforcement, transportation, water resources, disaster management, health, security, education, industry, panchayats, etc.). Like Karnataka which implemented the statewide ecosystem of GIS few years back. Karnataka uses a GIS solution (for State Government) offered by ESRI India. It is known as "State GIS", which is an Integrated & Collaborative Platform for Geo-Enabling Governance. There is a need to take immediate action against CAs facilitating corrupt businessmen to evade tax. In Delhi, the biggest evasion of tax is done by businessmen who have loads of black money and are assisted by Chartered Accountants (CAs) for this purpose. Income Tax department is hardly efficient in handling raids because of extreme corruption within. It is not the businessmen who are at fault here, because there is no way to earn money otherwise. It is these CAs who are the real culprits. As a responsible tax payer, I urge the State Government to take immediate action against these faulty CAs who are actually the root cause of this huge problem of Black Money. more
There is an urgent need to control black money in property dealings by INCREASING CIRCLE RATES to match market rates. Though this initiative was taken by previous governments, it is yet to be implemented properly. Circle rates should be streamlined in line with the market prices. Quarterly reviews should also be done for these circle rates. This will mean lesser commission for dealers and more tax/money in the form of stamp duty revenue for the state government. It will also reduce the inflated prices of properties across Delhi. In Delhi, property prices are higher than even the best of places in USA. This in spite of the fact that the infrastructure quality is so poor (not earthquake resistant, not fire proof). How can a salaried common man (earning ONLY white money) afford to buy a property in Delhi ? more
The main problem with the government schools in India is that most of the employees and teachers are not at all sincere in their job. I think they are qualified. But, once they get a government job, there is a lack of interest on their part to teach the students properly. They know that even if they do not teach sincerely or properly, nothing will happen to them as their job is safe. They do not come to the school well-prepared. All facilities like clean drinking water, clean toilets etc. must be available in all schools and regular sincere inspections from the education department should be there to see that the teachers are there in the school and they teach the students properly. Then only quality in education will happen. What is the benefit if a student who studies in Class 6 or 7 is not able to read without mistake, does not know the mathematics of addition, subtraction, multiplication or division? more
