PM Sh.Modi has delivered a sentimental speech on Independence day and can help the villages an improved life.Only thing now is to create an executive team to help his programmes.
Some more NGOs should also take similar oaths to help villages.
Regarding higher education,India is a shopping base rather educating and training professionals.Un -wanted courses are being created and run ,just to suit and fill the tijories of corrupts.Who needs the so called indian engineers ,who are being told even the names of machines by illiterate technicians? In industry, engineers are only labour supervisers and just waste.Professionals should change by themselves and not wait that Sh Modi shall announce and then only they will wake up.Theory is taught to do [erfect practicals ,but here there is no relevance in theory and practical classes.Water theory is taught, but engineers cannot use the facts for boilers controls, for example. All professional courses need restructuring and relevance,by industrial experts, not by school or college masters! more

Comments of Brij Gupta and Vijay look both contradicting but I see value in both. Engineers who graduated few decades ago had at least some self values and hard work attitude even though education system was bad. Those engineers are shining abroad not because of what they learnt in India but because of their learning ability, flexibility, hardwork, positive attitude and values. Old institutions are still producing good breed somehow but majority of colleges opened in last few decades are shops of politicians with clear aim of making money. When I hear their stories of capabilities, cheatings, befooling foreigners, frauds after they somehow land into countries like US, I wonder how long we can retain the good image of Indian engineers abroad. We essentially need to overhaul our education system at top priority. They are neither learning subject matter here nor basic values. more
I strongly agree with Mr. Drysal, we need to revamp our education system and courses. Our education system is now totally become business and mark based. Most of our students are doing copy (through their mind) and paste work during exams. No creativity, no understanding on subjects and students are become machine. more
I totally disagree with you Mr S. Drysal. It seems you are not an engineer by yourself, that is why such comments are being made. The Engineers of Indian qualification have been recognized world wide and they have achieved much greater fame than any other engineer of other countries including US and UK. Being an Engineering professional myself for the last 43 years, know how well qualified and trained are Indian Engineers and their capabilities are much higher than their counterparts in other countries. What is important is that the management of the Industries is in the hands of non professionals and they do not know how to utilize the human potential in India. When same engineers go abroad, they do wonders in their jobs. more
Take care more
