I am a western union sub agent few days back i got a notice from police station u/s160 with 91 cr. PC for joining investigation Under some FIR U?S 406/ 420/ 120b after joining investigation i came to know that sender of money have some personal dispute with the receiver so the sender filed a cheating case against the receiver for the money as our agency paid the money to the receiver we deposited the receipt papers to I.O. Sender only mentioned the money sent to the offender is through w.union of which we have produced the signed receiver copy to the I.O.no direct charge on us. But I.O. was saying I will try to settle both the parties for compromise otherwise you have to go to the courts to fight the case Anybody in the circle can advise me what to do I.O. is telling me right or misguiding me If matter goes to the courts what are our liabilities HELP more

And you will be entitled to a payment of Travel charge for appearance as a witness. Have no fear. more

I.O. Only misguide u? the responsibility of settlement between parties is belong to I.O. of the case. You are only a mediator/agent in this matter, court will call u as witness. more

Mr. Tandon, Depending upon the facts and circumstances, unless you are named as an accused in FIR, you have nothing to fear as in tha case you have to show your innocence by taking bail and then leading evidence . At the most, the police may record your statement and upon filing of chargesheet, the Court can call you to give evidence as a witness before the Court. Regards more

Your responsibility is just like a banks, at best you have to go as witness if summoned by the court. more
