8 IMPORTANT POINTS TO NOTE DURING THE PERIOD BETWEEN VACCINE DOSES :

(Excerpts from the video link by Dr. Santhosh Jacob)
* USE THE SAME BRAND OF VACCINE AS THE FIRST DOSE.
* THE BEST TIME GAP FOR KOVISHEILD (from Astra Zeneca ) FOR THE 2nd DOSE IS 6 WEKS TO 3MONTHS. THE 3 PHASES OF TRIALS BY ASTRA ZENCA HAD SHOWN THAT THE EFFICACY WAS INCREASED BY 8% AS IT WAS FOUND TO HAVE DEVELOPED A STABLE ANTIBODY RESPONSE. SO BETTER TO POSTPONE IT TO 4 – 6 WEEKS. AFTER THE TRIALS & TESTS OF PHASE I II III DONE AT AFTER 4 WEEKS , 6 WEEKS, AND LATER.
* AFTER THE SECOND DOSE THE SYMPTOMS AND SIDE EFFECTS WILL BE MORE AS THE SECONDARY IMMUNE RESPONSE STARTS TO ACT RESULTING IN SIDE EFFECTS.
* PAIN KILLERS ARE NOT RECOMMENDED AS TH EPAIN KILLERS REDUCE THE IMMUNE RESPONSE. BUT CONSULT DOCTOR IF THERE IS NEED.
* IF ANY RASH ON THE INJECTED ARM APPEARS AFTER FIRST DOSE THAT IS CALLED ‘COVID ARM ‘, THEN TAKE THE 2nd DOSE ON THE OTHER ARM.
* DURING THIS GAP AVOID VACCINATIONS FOR OTHER VIRUSES AS IT MAY NOT BE COMPATIBLE.
* THE IMMUNITY STARTS BUILDING UP FROM 2 WEEKS TO 3 MONTHS. 2 WEEKS IN NORMAL INDIVIDUALS AND UPTO 12 WEEKS WITH CO MORBID INDIIVIDUALS. AFTER THE 2nd DOSE AVOID SOCIAL EVENTS FOR 48 HOURS.
* LAST BUT NOT THE LEAST MASK WEARING SHOULD CONTINUE TILL 70% HERD IMMUNITY IS ACHIEVED IN THE TOWN, CITY .

Yes absolutely Mr. R.Das. We have been taking vitamins on a regular basis with the claim that to boost immune system . No doubt that has boosted the sales of the pharma companies. All immunization programs stopped with the 3rd dose , then a super booster dose. As the mutant varients are on the rise we may have to Civid vaccines on a regular basis. Third dose Booster dose and Super booster dose. more
Next six months are vital for realising the effect of vaccines. Pfizer is now advocating a third booster and the possibility of annual booster doses in future. Whether it boosts one's immunity or quality of life is yet to be seen, but sure would do wonders for the vaccine manufacturer's bottomlines. more
Thanks to Mr Jayakumar for his very useful guide to tackle the spread of virus. more
Most think that after the 2nd shot, they can go back to pre-covid ways. As a regular practice, In addition to masks and hygiene, avoid crowds. Take immunity boosters once or twice a week and do steam inhalation and gargling. more
