From 1st July, 2017 GST is applicable. Would like to know about the Service tax which is payable on Receipt basis of Bills, and payments of which are not received till 30th June, 2017. Whether Service Tax of unpaid Bills as on 30th June, 2017 is also to be paid to Government or the same is to be paid when the payments of such Bills is received. Secondly, filing of Return (ST-3) of such BILLS payments of which is not received and will be received on later dates. more
So far service tax on services rendered was to be credited to govt account on receipt. If invoice has been raised in June and payment is not to be received till after 45 days would one have to make payment before 7th July or on receipt. more

This is what I have understood over a long period since the service tax was introduced. Claimed amount of service tax will have to be deposited by 06 Jul 2017. more
