I fully agree with Sikha Jain. In fact, I feel the answers to all the areas she has mentioned is a big NO. So far trains running on time is concerned, no train except Rajdhanis and Shatabdis are on time. Trains are late by up to 15-16 hours (for a journey of 32 hours). I just want to ask, can Railways do this? (run the trains so late)? Does the traveler's time have no value? Railways seems to be unaware of the sufferings and other consequences of late running. If there is a premium the passengers have to pay for every added facility/service (dynamic fare, Tatkal, cancellation etc.), why can't the passengers claim refund for late running of trains? In fact, there should be rule, such as if the train reaches a passenger's destination late by one hour, the Railways has to return 10% of the fare paid. In this way, if a train is late by by more than 10 hours, the passenger should get full refund.
Railways is collecting huge money in the name of cancellation, dynamic fare, Tatkal service etc.etc., but has anything improved in the Indian Railways in the last 3 years? more

Mr.Damodar is quite right. They are charging premium amount for many services which are not worth at all. While cancelling we lose a substantial amount. Also there are high fares of different kind of Tatkal. There is dynamic fares. But all the trains run on same lines and same stations, platforms. Whether by paying more we will fly above dirty platforms and stations? And there is a persistent case of late running of trains... So it is right to demand refunds. Let us demand for 'dynamic' refunds! 1 hour to 5 hour late 10% to 100% is OK. Above that passengers should be compensated in addition to refund of ticket. Like, 100% refund + 25% or 50% or 100% etc. There should not be any need to go to consumer forums. Mandatory. more
Roads, railway, air transport; no one really cares about the people. Those in charge know the government attitude and are just emboldened when it comes to taking the common man for a ride. more
But now the Railways should wake up and pull their strings to improve punctuality. more
I am glad atleast now people are speaking up. Though we may form a small minority now but in the days to come such forums will become stronger. Governments just want compliance from the citizens without being answerable or responsible for delivering what they promise, forget what they are supposed to. Best way to make a Government agency answerable would be to bring their services under Consumer Act more
No one is responsible for trains late in Indian railways. They are just earning money by the name of premium trains, services dynamic fare for rajdhani nd shatabdi. On 21-May-2017 10:34 PM, "Damodar Agarwal" wrote: > more
