I was advised by an ayurvedic doctor not to chew( bite) the seeds with the teeth as they tend to breakup into irregular sharp shapes and when consumed tend to damage the delicate stomach walls and intestines. Nicely chew the pulp and gulp down the seed portion of the fruit to derive the best of the fruit. Whole seeds help in removing constipation. And also the seeds when chewed, get into the cavities in the teeth and in the spaces between gum and teeth and we may get a damaged gum while dislodging the seed with a tooth pick etc ! more
