Train stoppages are wholly influenced by politicians who want every train to stop at all stations within LS or assembly constituency. This is the easiest wY to gain popularity among his voters. But this has killed the development. Railways need to reconsider all stoppages of all trains , review and reschedule timings and stoppages. Our PM wants faster development in railways. The ministry need to support him. more

THE CONNECTIVITY BETWEEN RANCHI AND HOWRAH IS REMARKABLE. In the British period, during the BNR railways the Britishers introduced Howrah-Ranchi(now Hatia) Express night train via Tata Nagar. This route covers important stations of Muri, Tata Nagar, Kharagpur etc. This route covers strategically important stations between Kharagpur and Muri which supplies workforce, vegetables, fruits, flowers, rice, many other products for the people of other stations en route and to people of two major populous cities--Tata Nagar and Ranchi. Ranchi has in the mean time become the Capital City of Jharkhand and has assumed enormous importance for the people of enroute stations from last State station Chakulia to almost Muri. Tata Nagar is the industrial and financial capital of Jharkhand almost from the Independence Year. But both the Railway Administration and the State Government has failed to introduce any suitable fast Train on daily basis in this route IN THE LAST 70 YEARS AFTER INDEPENDENCE. The connectivity between Tata Nagar and Ranchi is through Road only in day time where not only the Road is bad,HAZARDOUS and time consuming but also the bus fare is extra ordinarily high. For common people it is too much taxing. Authorities will cite that Intercity Express via Tatanagar is introduced. but that is only for 3 days consecutively- Thursday, Friday & Saturday. It leaves Ranchi early morning and comes back mostly around 11 pm or later in the night. The time of arrival is extremely unsafe. I had seen about 3 years back one young lady and her teenage daughter arriving by this train without any male companion and asking Auto Rickshawalas to take them to BIT, Meshra. The enormous risks are easily imaginable, besides the sky-rocketing fares being asked which any passengers for any place has to pay as no other alternatives are available at late night. Railways talk about Safety and Security in trains and levies money for that. WHERE IS THE CONCERN FOR SAFETY OF PEOPLE ON ARRIVAL(AND BEFORE DEPARTURES). WHERE THERE ARE MANY TRAINS RAILWAYS CAN AGREEABLY SUGGEST OTHER ALTERNATIVES BUT WHERE IS THERE IS ALMOST NO TRAIN OR ONE TRAIN ONLY, THEY(RAILWAYS) CAN NOT SHRUG OFF THE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY. Introduction of any new railway Direct track between Ranchi and Chandil/Tata is a far cry, and till then the people of this route needs urgently some relief. Considering all the points above, in a nutshell I want to suggest that a Daily Fast Passenger be introduced between Ranchi and Jhargram in the same route as of Hatia-Ranchi Express via Tata which will leave Ranchi at Morning around 7 am ,go to Jhargram and after a halt of 1 hour return from there to Ranchi or VICE VERSA. This will be over conveniently between 7 am and 6 pm or earlier. WEST BENGAL COULD GET A SIMILIAR TRAIN INTRODUCED FOR THE PEOPLE OF THEIR STATE BETWEEN JHARGRAM AND PURULIA THROUGH AFST PASSENGER. THIS IS NOT A COMPLICATED AFFAIR AND A DAILY FAST PASSENGER TRAIN CAN BE INTRODUCED BETWEEN RANCHI AND JHARGRAM WHICH WILL BE A BLESSING TO THE PEOPLE IN THIS ROUTE. more

Ashok Bapat, architect valuer Pune. This political interference should be cleared and the train timing should reduce at least by two hours as per new technology. This must be case in many routes. They should be checked and correct to make efficient rly. communcaction. more

No set of stoppage and start and reach time at stations shall be convenient to all the passengers at all the places so one should not expect the best of all in country like India. A train is available and reaches to destnation is big thing till date. If Stoppage is reduced railway runs ito losses. Also passengers at other stations which do not have stoppage feels discrimnated . Solution is more trains and better logistics at station wise is the key to the issue. High speed trains will cover up the issue of more stoppage and delay in reaching the destination. more

Adding to Mr Sumant's comment the Railways should introduce the new trains on the routes where there is really a need rather than introducing them on the already overburdened tracks & from the consitituancies of the Railway Minister & Local Policitian. This causes 1) Delay in the running trains 2) chances of the accident increases. 3) Life of the track reduces which means more maintenance. more
