Dear Members, I am quoting below the mail sent to Editor, Navbharat Timmes for a news published in their Faridabad Times on 1st May 2016 regarding replacement of Distribution Transformer by DHBVN. I would appeal each and every affected consumer to kindly ensure that the necessary penalty is paid just to ensure that the DHBVN disciplines its operation and not take consumers for a ride.

Dear Sir,
I refer to your news report as appeared in NBT Faridabad on 1st May 2016 (scanned copy attached) regarding replacement of transformer by DHBVN in Kheri Kalan.
It is not surprising as DHBVN does not care for the electricity subscribers despite having been mandated by Haryana Electricity Regulatory Commission. In the case of instant report, Haryana Electricity Regulatory Commission have regulation of addressing the complaint of Distribution Transformer failure within 24 hrs in city and 48 hrs in rural area. In case DHBVN does not meet such tmelines, DHBVN need to pay penalty to the affected consumers at the rate of Rs. 100/- per day subject to a maximum of Rs. 3,000/- and this penalty is payaable automatically that means without any demand. Payment of penalty is the only route to improve Quality of Services of any service provider.
I would request you to kindly bring out the above stated facts in appropriate manner in your newspaper so that people raise their voice against such deficiency in services. Incidentally I am contesting a complaint before CGRF for a claim of Rs. 9,000/- for not adhering to time schedule for correction in bills. Mindsets and attitudes have to change first, then only service levels will change for the better. in every govt department, it is 'sab chalta hai' because there is no punishment or penalty for the wrong doers or negilents. more  
Virmani Jee, Kindly send us some important email ids of News Papers and Electricity Department on which we can draw the attention of the senior officers against slack attitude of electricity department employees. more

Dear Mr. Rajender Saini ji, Thanks for the keen interest in the post. It is true that electricity companies are callous in discharge of the contractual obligations towards the consumers. Mainly it is because of we consumers not asserting our own rights. You may like to initiate by lodging complaint with the Area Office followed by reminder as well as sending complaints to SE/ MD. I am quite sure that you would be compelled to resort to written complaints and start sending by speed post. You may also like to contact Haryana State Consumer Helpline at 1800-180-2087 for advise and guidance on any consumer related problem. The helpline functions during normal working hrs. more  
Virmani Sir, Firstly, I would like to thank you very much for your valuable suggestions and recommendations. This is an eye opener platform. I belongs from Hodal City (Palwal) where the nuisance of electricity department is at large. The staff members belongs from nearby villages and take shelters of local leaders and hardly attends the complaint. In our colony, the 11 K.V. pole wire swinging dangerously. The residents are afraid of any untoward situation. It should be re-wired duly ensuring safety measures. Kindly, advise me as to how lodge complaint and ensure safety measures. more
