I want to discuss one very serious problem which mostly women folk face its UTI and leucorrhoea which is on the rise.Has anybody given it a thought why inspite of thorough knowledge of hygiene and education this problem has increased over the previous few years. In my practice I have observed that this problem is more prevalent in womanfolk of middle and upper class than lower class and villagers. Reason for this is extensive use of bum showers to clean the faeces which flies with the pressure of water and gets lodged on the pubic hair present on the perinium , its the space between Vagina and anus. From here the bacterias travel to vulva and vagina causing urinary tract infection and leucorrhoea ( white discharge). All the patients whom I advised to discontinue the use of bum shower and asked them to use mug and washing with hands to clean the faecal matter thoroughly from back side were happy to notice that they never had repeated attacks of UTI. more

Thank you Renuka for appreciating my boldness to discuss this subject on net but I feel this is the need of time people should be made aware of the precautions to be taken to avoid these diseases which are preventable. Bum shower is jet used in english toilet seats. more

Hello Asha, In last few years I have heard many cases of UTI. but I didn't know exactly what it is. After seeing your post, read on net. Your post is so helpful, will share it further in my family. Please keep sharing such posts and educate us on these health topics. It is so helpful for people like us who are not in health line and are not aware of such do's and don'ts and finally suffer. Somehow people feel shy sharing and responding to such topics, but you must have already gained so many blessing from others by creating awareness about UTI. On Net I could not find what is bum shower, is washing method used in English seats called 'Bum shower'? more
