Thanks to DHBVN(Dakshin Haryana Bijli vitran nigam ltd) for giving us the opportunity to enjoy a candle night dinner on the 68th Republic day of India. This was made possible because of the power outage caused by the slight drizzle since morning. Although DHBVN gives this opportunity to the residents of this Tony residential colony of DLF 1 in the millennium city of Gurgaon, almost every other day, yet today was special. (At the time of writing this post the power had yet to be restored even after 8hours). Thanks to the most corrupt, incompetent DHBVN and apathetic bureaucracy and courts, we the common citizens will continue to get these privileges (candle night dinners) due to power outages caused by a slight drizzle or mild wind or because of squirrels chewing up the cables or water seeping into the transformers etc etc. What is there to celebrate the Republic day. more

Very nice article ! but did you raise a public complaint ! DHBVN is not responding to consumer's complaint because the consumer is not complaining. For such a pathetic situation, I feel we ourselves are responsible. We never come forward and complain for their deficiency in service. Never tried to invoke penalties on them for not adhering to benchmark of services. For the first time I feel an erring officer of DHBVN was compelled to bear the expenditure incurred by the author for not getting the requisite services as per entitlement. If such penalties are ensured on the erring officer, the service may get improve. Most of us are not even aware about the entitlement we have from the DHBVN. In one of the talk with RWA in Faridabad, I had tired to bring certain points before RWA members but no one came forward even with their complaint and preferred to pay bribe to the staff for getting correction in their bills. The staff is so addicted to the extra income that they always try to send wrong bills and bills on the last dates. We all need to own the ownership of their laxity and corrupt practices. In one of the post in two circle reflecting inefficiency and trouble being meted out to the residents of Sainik Colony in Faridabad, no one even provided the details. more
