In our Managing Committee of the housing Society we have a woman member who constantly threatens the male members of gender bias, describes the committee as male dominated. She also complains she is never heard when the fact is contrary to that. Her father who lives in the Society lost the recent elections and is behind this. Recently she has written a letter stating that she intends to pursue the matter legally and with the police. She has objections to everything uttered and decisions taken. Can she complain to the police and what are the consequences. How do we conduct the meetings when she is a member of the committee. Any legal suggestions to handle this biased and prejudice lady member. more

In a managing committee meeting all decisions are taken based on the majority Kindly record the minutes of the meeting at all times For additional personal safety; you can do video recording for each meeting to avoid false allegations. All decisions taken by the managing committee with a majority cannot be contested by any committee member even if they are against the decision unless the decision taken is not as per law more

I suggest NOT to co-opt her on MC or make her Office Bearer as it will signal that she has been right and all along you had gender bias. Treat he written complaints on their merit. Where are you located? more
