Your points is correct as there is no social security coverage for retired persons. There are so many offers particular to some persons on the basis of religion and other considerations to get vote bank and the existence for the politicians. So far None of the Govt since 1947 had not adopted a policy that protect the senior persons specially who are drawing meager pension or other lower income from private sectors. The Bureaucrats even at the retirement enjoy maximum benefits in addition to the earning they accumulated during their service. It is by God gift that they happen to be in the Bureaucrats cadre not with standing the qualifications, skills and knowledge gained by others in various positions and services. But their meager income is subject to TDS and other tax provisions without looking to their expenses and other commitments towards family and old age treatment and other concerns. Therefore, the Govt should implement a policy that would protect the senior retired persons from Govt / Public sector and other organizations at their old age to have a decent life and to maintain their status quo while in service. more

Mr. Harpreet Anand Sahab Ji.....First of all we are talking for the forum of Senior Citizens and not for the youth. Secondly youth don't want to work and if you propose pension for youth and unemployed, they will sit ideal and enjoy all benefits. Mr. Sasidharan.......I respect your views But the Politicians and their vote bank will not allow to do it. Even at the age of age 80 they are still young and wants to enjoy all the benefits after serving for 5 years and WE the people who had given our blood to the nation or to the Company for 35-40 years hardly gets anything. I AM PROUD TO BE INDIAN BUT DOES NOT WANT TO STAY IN INDIA more
