Recently I added money to my Paytm wallet for uber. But when I tried to pay for the next ride through Paytm it refused to accept payment and asked me to use other modes of payment .... net banking or cash. I then wrote to uber who said they were having some minor issues with Paytm so I should use other modes of payment. I then asked them what would happen to the balance in my Paytm wallet. Despite reminders there is no response. Problem with them is they don't have any call centre for customers, so there is no way I can talk to anyone. Pl advise how I can resolve this issue. more

Good people of India are free to do all short of extra circular activities. I do have a similar experience. As per my FM, I was encouraged to use debit card, though last 15 years I have never used it. I got filled Rs. 2000.00 petrol, instead of Rs. 500.00 - the usual amount I can afford to carry at best. Before filling I did inquire if I can pay through card. But unfortunately some problem with net work or my card / bank - It did not work. So I have to ring my wife to send domestic help with cash, finally I paid in CASH - much againts the wishes of my FM. IT COSTED ME - 40 minutes. SO MY FRIEND - MAKE PAYMENT THROUGH ELECTRONIC MODE - BUT REMEMBER TO KEEP ENOUGH CASH IN YOUR POCKET. ANY WAY I LEARNED THE LESSON. LEARNING IS MORE IMPORTANT - YOU WILL NEVER FAIL. more

Ms. Neeru Sood, I don't understand why are you worried about the money in your Paytm wallet. Simply use it to pay your neighborhood grocery store or at Mother dairy booth. more

I have a different problem with PAYTM. I added money to it from my bank - but it never got credited to the Paytm account, although it has been debited from my bank account. Also I have no way to prove it to my bank / Paytm because the transaction reads as : "Your SB A/C **** is debited for Rs 500 on 25-12-2016 by Debit card swipe. " So, it nowhere shows it was sent to paytm !! And I have argued with the bank and written to Paytm but no help was received !! more

@Satya Pal Ratti Sir, it is the business arrangment between seller and the manufacturer or Distributors which governs the extension of the warranty. In most of the cases, the warranty service is extended by the manufacturer through their authorised service centres or Distributors depending upon the nature of business agreement. In my view the sellers do not set up their service infrastructure because of various reasons including that of economic consideration and hence the warranty services are extended by the manufacturers. Coming back to the post, the Uber might have withdrawn from the agreement between Paytm and Uber due to any reason specially it may not have been suiting them, the consumer has hardly any role to insist for accepting the payment through some specific mode. While Uber could be held responsible if they have advertised Paytm as mode of payment and later on have not advertised or informed for withdrawal of the same, the Paytm is responsible for refunding the deposit as per terms and conditions of the agreement between consumer and Paytm. more
