You have to withdraw PF accumulation before joining to new employment . Now the PF (old)accumulation is transferred to new pf account then it is advisable to continue the same more
Ravi and Amarjeet and Pankaj Great amount of information appreciate and thanks a lot for your help. Best Regards Arun more
Dear Arun, First of all about the rules, recently lot of confusion has been created in notifications, old rules which said you can withdraw pf after 3 months of unemployment & new rules (10 Feb 2016) which said you cannot withdraw PF before retirement. That new rule issued on 10 Feb 2016 is rolled back and the old rules will continue to hold good. Your question is about transfer of your old pf to new account with latest employer. As you mentioned that you got your UAN number with new employer, have you activated it? if not first activate it by Clicking on Activate your UAN on http://uanmembers.epfoservices.in/ Fill in all info (you may need complete EPF number with establishment code, EPF office code & your pf account number), you can find all essential services offered by EPFO for employees on: http://www.epfindia.com/site_en/For_Employees.php It is easy to activate it by your self, without bringing in employer help. If you have old pf account's UAN number, then activate that as well if not activated yet or generate new UAN for old employer on: http://uanmembers.epfoservices.in/check_uan_status.php After doing all these, you can claim the transfer of account using OTCP (Online transfer claim portal) on: http://www.epfindia.com/site_en/OTCP_ForEmployees.php You can claim your PF transfer online, if your employer or previous employer has submitted digital signature to their employer EPFO account & is approved by EPFO. And your previous employer should not be exempted for EPF. then only OTCP works. One more condition, your previous employer should not be an exempted for EPF (exempted organization maintains their employees' PF account by themselves as a private trust, for example TCS is exempted organization), if it was exempted organization then, OTCP is not useful & wont help much and you have to contact old employers' retiral/pf department, to claim your pf, they will ask you for a cancelled check of present bank account & Form 13 (revised) filled, signed & sealed by present employer to transfer your PF accumulation to present PF account. You can find all services offed by EPFO for employees on: http://www.epfindia.com/site_en/For_Employees.php you can search for establishment codes & if your PF account is too old and has became inoperative (PF account is inoperative when, accumulation remains untransferred or not withdrawn after 3 years of leaving organization & after that it doesn't earns interest), in such case, you may send your all info you know to InOperative Helpdesk in above link. Hope this info is useful for you. Regards, Ravi more
If your service is continuing without any break you can not withdraw PF as a rule more
You can withdraw and continue your present UAN, there is no any such process of auto transfer of PF from one a/c to other PF a/c if linked with the UAN. You can go ahead with the withdrawal if you need the fund. Employee has to separately process for the transfer either online or offline whichever is convenient. more
