90% paints in India are bad
Over 90% of 51 paints used to paint houses, which are available in the Indian market, analysed by two research and advocacy groups contain lead concentrations above the Central government’s permissible limit of 90 parts per million (ppm). Also, 76.4% of these paints contained lead more than 111 times the permissible limit, according to the analysis.

It would be better to put source of the information to legitimize it more so that people freely can speak against it. Also, if such is the case how the govt. bodies allowing this excessive substance more than allowed? Usually bodies issue certificates after scrutiny? more

In India human value is negligible. Lead increases shining of paint hence companies are using the same with impunity. more

Thank you. Lead compounds are added to paint to improve their quality - moisture resistance, faster drying, shine. In 1978, USA banned lead based paints. Ingredients used in paints should be specified and lead based paints should not be permitted more
