900 meters issue in Sukrali Enclave.
Sukrali Enclave has massive problems as it falls within the 900 meters from the Airforce ammunition depot, making it a restricted zone. Due to this, there is no sanitation, no drinking water, no electricity, no proper roads in this colony, not even clearing of the garbage.
Just imagine a locality existing right inside the city behind Bata showroom very near to IFFCO chowk and people are all living there in such dire conditions.
How can the government first of all allow such an ammunition depot to exist inside the city in such close quarters to public areas. Though the depot was built so many years ago when it was all jungle, now times have changed and the population has increased manifold. The govt cannot be adamant and say no building should exist within 900 meters of the depot and expect the people from this locality to move out by demolishing their structures and buildings inside this locality, this is totally absurd.
Why cannot they shift the depot to the outskirts of the city where the public will be much safer. Now they have decreased the restricted zone to 300 meters as per the announcement in Nov 2017 however till date they have still not provided electricity, drinking water nor proper roads are still not laid to those areas beyond the 300 meters.
Why MCG is not taking any action to provide basic facilities for these people living in such dire conditions for so many years? As I just read, in case of infiltration or any kind of destructive activities, this depot has the capacity to destroy the ENTIRE CITY of Gurgaon. Is this some joke? Why cannot they re-locate the depot outside the city? more
