Recipe for milk with turmeric:

Take 1 inch turmeric piece
Boil for 15 minutes in milk
Strain out the turmeric
Cool and drink this milk.

Durga Prasad ji, the dried sabut haldi available in the market is not boiled and processed to my knowledge. My wife always brings sabut haldi from the market, dries it and then uses it for boiling in the milk. She has been using it for quite some time this way only and I understand this recipe was told to her by her grand father. more  
Gupta ji. Pls clarify whether turmeric should be 'kachi haldi root' or even dried one would do. I understand the dried sabut haldi available in the market are already boiled and processed. And if I may say so, boiling a piece of dried sabut haldi for 15 minutes would not yield desired extract from the root. more
