I fully agree. But the irony is that there are already laws to the effect that there won't be wine or meat shops within specified distance of temple, school, hospital etc. But GOVERNANCE is the issue. more

I am sure if the local people have logical dialogue with the meat shop owner without allowing this matter to slip in the hands of politicians the meat shop owner will get convinced for shifting. more

To remove meat shop is difficult as there is no such except Haridwar. You can write to Govt and Govt can make rules to put certain restrictions. more

Worth a note : struck down - in UK This grant of the application will be challenged by way of judicial review. We are going all the way to oppose this – the Sikh right to worship which is protected under the Human Rights Act will be seriously undermined if this goes ahead. Worship is not just the physical act, it also has a spiritual faith aspect to it which is as important as the physical act (if not more). The chairman had the casting vote and he clearly did not understand this argument, reducing it instead to one of smell. Councillor Imran Khan was spot on and he, as a devout Muslim, understood the point entirely. The Planning Officer recommended approval and for the committee to be tied was a major achievement – it went down to the casting vote. We have legal grounds to challenge and we will. and The decision has been revoked as a result of our Judicial Review. Therefore, no more planning permission for a meat plant next to the Gurdwara. more
