A racket is going on in the New Delhi Rly Station. A lot of tickets are being purchased by these brokers everyday in fictitious names on the day of opening the reservation. On schedule date these tickets are being sold to the passengers who are loitering in the Station on the date of journey in search of availability of tickets and grabbed by the agents of these brokers who charged at least 3 times extra to the cost of ticket for selling these tickets in fictitious name with a guarantee that the ticket checker will not verify the identity. My son has witnessed it in the last month when he was brought to one of the shops at Paharganj by the agent. The identity of any of the passengers of that Sleeper Class Compartment who were traveling in fictitious name were verified by the ticket checkers throughout the journey from New Delhi to Kharagpur.

Agreed. It is a open secret. Only possible solution seems taking photograph of the person who books ticket/s if the technology can do this on line. The TTE's will not do anything as the honesty has been drained from their life/ conscious. I had seen myself a TT negotiating with a ticketless person who got into AC-2 and slept throughout from Lucknow to Gaziabad. TT came in gaziabad negotiated and let him without ticket. more

Recently RLY has stopped Internet booking fron 10 to 12, and it found usfull, I got my ticket on window . Where as in past I never got ticket on window at 8.00 AM. Thanks to Mr. Prabhu Rly. Minister. more
