Aadhaar linked Death Registry for India

One is hearing of many deaths during this pandemic and while many are Covid related, many others are also happening in friends/family/colleagues/other contacts that are non Covid but hard to explain. I have a feeling that our death rate in India is inaccurate because of the way information is captured on ground. Someone passes away in UP village there is no registry.

There is an urgent need to create a centralised death registry system where a death certificate can be generated only after requisite inputs are given and for small villages and towns the DM office must have a terminal to input and issue the same but all info is tracked via Aadhar and centrally.

Everyone kindly give ur inputs on this and if many people think this will work request the localcircles to escalate it to PM Modi. more

Yes this is a must more
This is a good suggestion. We need to move towards a more formal and digital way of recording such events. more
Voter card also required to be linked to adhar card. more
It is a very good proposal . Now , I think for cremation or burial , Aadhaar copy of the death person is required . But I have a doubt that every cremation or burial ground have an access to update in the Aadhaar Registry . Govt may look into the system , as to how, the name of the deceased person is updated automatically in the system itself so that benefits like DBT (direct benefit transfer ) from Govt towards social welfare in those account holders stops immediately and thereby blocks drainage of govt exchequer . Similarly , for any new born baby when birth certificate is being issued by the authority , the same should be linked with the Aadhaar Registry so that foreigners can not make Aadhaar by birth and becomes citizen of our country easily. more
A very good suggestion. more
