Aadhaar mandatory for car buying

Is there a new rule that RTOs will register a new car ONLY at the buyer's Aadhaar address? So someone with an Aadhaar address in one city/district cannot buy a car in another he/she's moved to, without changing Aadhaar?

Basically Aadhaar is made mandatory for buying a car. more

Aadhar may be used to identify a bonafide purchaser but as far as his/her present address is concerned, the purchaser should be asked to produce other acceptable proof of present address. more
The comment seems to be one of a kind. It looks like the adult population in India are buying cars as if they buy dal roti. Why a citizen of India (any state) shy away in proving his identity and place of residence unless he/she is mole of some terrorist group. It is not the question of "Aadhar, it is the question of proving the identity. Before Aadhar, the RTO insisted proof of identity through Ration card, Electricity Bill, DoT telephone Bill property tax receipt etc. If a citizen does not have any of these how is he/she going to buy a car. No one ask for identity if you are buying a loaf of bread. A vehicle is tool for murder. I doubt there is something really wrong with the person who posted it. IB, RAW, NIA, or State Intelligence Wing must investigate and place the details on the watch list. If a vehicle with explosive can be placed near the residence of Mr. Mukesh Ambani, if there can be an explosion at Church Street and Sivaji Nagar in Bengaluru people who can not produce their Aadhar document to buy a car (new or used) must be put on surveillance. more
Aadhar must be made mandatory for all asset purchases. Cash transactions in bullion, forex market are rampant which should be tapped first by the government. Jewellers recommend to their customers for cash transactions to avoid tax for both parties. Strict enforcement is must in these field. No.2 economy can be majorly reduced more
I don't think Aadhar is mandatory. They might be using it as a pressure point as per their normal practice. more
All movable and immovable Properties must be on linking Aadhaar Card only more
