Aadhar hassles faced by common people

I have been trying to update the Aadhar address and mobile number of my family for last 3-4 months and it has indeed been tiring and frustrating work, as is the case in most of the government related work in India.

First of all, I tried to send all the documents to Hyderabad office for updation. That was rejected 3 times and then got to know that it has to be done by the authorised agents of UIDAI.

Then found that most of agents in Dwarka, Delhi have stopped operating and some agents are operating through Bank branches.

I took a leave and then started finding out the branches which will help in getting the updation done. After going around to SBI, ICICI, IDBI etc got to know that one is operating from Syndicate Bank. The guy from SREI Infrastructures Finances Limited, after showing lot of attitude and misbehaving with senior citizens and others, finally gave a form to get it xeroxed and asked for documents. I gave all the documents and the process was completed with Biometrics etc.

I was happy that my work is finally over and after some days got a message from UIDAI that my updation is rejected because of technical issues. From call centre I got to know that the process needs to be redone. No action on SREI for their inefficiency.

Got to know that Banks are now doing Aadhar updation. I went to ICICI Bank, Sector 5 Branch and they said that they have huge load and I need to take an appointment. Date given is for 3rd of March 2018.

If this harrasment is undergone by an educated citizen and a place like Delhi, just imagine the plight of citizens in small towns and rural areas.

Is anything going to change in India considering the attitude of Government departments? Unlikely.

The government might have good intentions but it is difficult to change the attitude of people, especially government departments. If UIDAI(set up to change Indian way of working and technically sound) behaves like this, just imagine what is the situation in other departments. Instead of taking action on UIDAI officials, FIR is being filed on journalists. more

When Aadhar was introduced, mobile phones were not common. Therefore, there is no linked mobile in millions of cases. Now, one has to pay and stand in queue for hours to update information in aadhar. It is suggested that verified mobile number may be updated in system without going through the harassment of standing in queue. more
I second your opinion Sudhansu Ji. I enrolled my child for new Adhaar. Form was filled correctly, biometrics performed, attached all valid ID proofs. Still I got message after 10 days that the application got rejected due to technical issues. They are using this generic statement to reject the application. What was the technical issue, what should be done now, whether a new application is required or some corrections is required - nobody will tell. There's a huge information gap when it comes to processes involving government entities. Citizens don't know who to approach, what process to follow, what is the escalation matrix! Its a messy system where most people coming with quota and reservation don't want to work. Regards Sheli more
I agree with what Mr. Sudhansu Mishra has expressed I had similar problems in getting the spellings name of my wife corrected. I had to visit three different places, submit three different applications at these places, ULTIMATE AN AMOUNT OF Rs.50\00 HAD TO BE PAID BY MEN BEFORE THE ERROR ( WHICH IN THE FIRST PLACE WAS COMMITTED UIDAI ) was ultimately corrected. more
It is really difficult for the common people. Every thing is getting attached to Aadhar, but the facility of updation is not available in common man's place. more
IT SHOWS HOW OUR GOVT IS FUNCTIONING......... I have been going from pillar to post which include this M2K office, other locations where earlier making Aadhaar cards and few of the banks listed in the official website, repent to mention here that none of the places I could get it done for my son. Most of the places are closed and some of the banks are accepting only 25 persons application per day for which huge queue and 98% of the people are returned every day with frustration. Getting Aadhar Card in India is a project now. Banks and mobile service providers are pestering us for linking aadhaar card number. I feel ashamed of being born in this country. common men are affected badly. Can anyone help me in getting an Aadhaar Card issued for my son ? All the way he came from Netherlands only to get it issued and linked to bank & mobile, as there are pressures from Banks etc., Regards Raghavendra more
