Aadhar updation still in nineties mode

You need to stand in queue for few hours in morning for tokens (only 20 per day) and then wait for your turn like 1980s

Government of India should launch online tokens, increase the daily limit, and have respect for time

Can LocalCircles take this up. I have no hope left from english print media journalists. more

True. I am trying for change of State name from Andhra Pradesh to Telangana for over a year. Not updated despite submission of documents. While updating my card in 2023, the state mentioned as Andhra Pradesh from the old card issued in 2011. Thereafter the state got bifurcated and I am in Telangana. Though I am writing mails with documentary proof the correction is not taking place. The mail help@uidai did not respond except occasional acknowledgement of our mail. The regional offices also do not respond to our mails. more
First of all, the Aadhar updation - many of the edits/updates are possible Online and you need not spend time standing in queue. Please take a look into the Aadhar site and I hope you could get your work accomplished. Only where the new Aadhar cards are to be issued or an input where the presence of the person is required, the person has to follow the rule of the agency. I found that my Date of Birth was missing in my Aadhar Card and till December 2024 any edits could be done and no fees was required but now for updating/editing, you need to pay fees(Government has added this to increase their income). I got the edit done and printed my new card which had the date of birth(which is a necessity for me). So instead of being dependent on Municipal Agency where errors and mistakes are too many, you can try edit from comfort of the home. more
Government should improve: it is not the issue that it is being experience at particular place only: government have every data and it should be proactive to make adequate provision to avoid such issues that people are not being wasting their time due to government agency/infrastructure issues. more
Absolutely correct min. 2hrs in line and also taking appointment takes 1-2 attempts. Govt should really improve on this increasing more centers. Like earlier banks were used to do it. Alternatively other institutions/ approved bodies should be given this task like CAMS and other KYC approval bodies more
It is salient feature of any govt institution to make clients to stand in long queues for hours. more
