Abolish Internal Borders within India for GST !!

The founding Fathers in other countries followed a principle when making the first laws in their countries - When something cannot be implemented - then it should not be made into a law as it would give rise to harrasment and corruption ! In Sales tax - when you cannot even control the borders of a country - then how come you are passing laws to control the internal borders of your country ? This only gives rise to harassment of the common man as well as rise in corruption - Some other system must be found - and this is a great time for the government to rise above and abolish internal borders for GST purpose as it only gives rise to harassment and corruption ! more

The govt requires Tax , this could be collected by way of transaction tax. All currency notes above Rs.20/- to go out, all transactions only by way of plastic cards , internet banking , or any other form of digital system only, hundreds are available today. For every transaction , a tax will be debited automatically by the system at the time of the transaction itself ( like TDS).The govt gets its revenue. The govt does not spend on monitoring business and tax collection expenses , AND out goes all discretion of the person on the spot, complicated rules/laws , no intrusion , no chance of corruption, millions of court cases will not appear, only benefits for every one. The recording and submission of accounts/income for individuals/groups/firms and organisations to be submitted to the Govt , for the purpose of ensuring there are no illegalities with reference to the laws of the land. Everything records/financial statement remains as it is, except there is no hard cash to corrupt. This goes well with the slogan from PM, LESS GOVERNMENT . ALL administrative and accounting persons need not worry about loosing jobs. OR still better, the persons employed in the collection and accounting could be free to come to business , more entrepreneurs and the country will be number one in the world. Presently , the entrepreneur is doing less business and more of complying with the wonderful laws created by persons never affected by the laws. more
You are 200% right. Please visit my FB page Community Centre where the same things are discussed with many other reforms required for real inclusive development of the country. Unfortunately, the present dispensation is not interested to listen unless forced out by the electorate. more
very correct but regular checks are needed more
Manoj Gupta Ji U r right, The implementation needs more work ,there is no need of registration for small unit having a turnover of 20 lacs per month with respect to retailer & others more
We are getting divided on the matter of small and large units - we are getting divided in the matter of one State to another state - Divide and Rule was British Policy but it also applies to others ! By others - I mean not the Government but Vested interests - By Vested Interests I mean - the very Lawmakers (sometimes Bureaucrats - who either want loopholes to be there so that corruption occurs ) _ What I am trying to say here is different - Lets not be divided - Lets just abolish borders for all on the basis of the fact that this is not practical - that this leads to corruption - and that other methods should be thought out for compliance. In other countries - Internal borders are not there - The taxes are implemented at either point of Origin or better still at Point of Sale or a combination of Both ! Whats wrong with that - why not for all - BIG and Small Enterprises ! more
Manoj Gupta, tell us why you have arrived this opinion about GST. In India, basically most us if not dishonest, but enjoy cash purchases even without bills and try to evade taxes (including income tax). Now tell us, where you belong and why are you against implementation of new rules? more
I am sorry to say that everyone has become GST concerned, whether they read the rules or took time to learn from some knowledgeable accountants. Quarterly compliance for all looks fine, but input tax credit which is most important in GST will also defer by 3-months and the money will be locked till the invoice matching does not take place. No one will be benefited. If a business want to absorb the GST of the purchase cost and sell the monopoly items with additional billing GST and respective customers are willing to pay the higher prices, then let everyone feel happy. This will completely defeat the purposes of GST, which aimed at paying the final GST only once by the last customer. more
I am not against implementation of GST - But it was supposed to be a simple tax - in the beginning - Now it has reached a level of impracticality in which the small and honest (Honest because the honest do not have a black money buffer) is hurt the most and all because of complications in compliance. If they make it a quarterly compliance for all - and remove borders - That itself will go along way !

Lets not now make it a new issue of - all of us are corrupt and dishonest in some way or another and so all laws have to made such that we have to prove ourselves innocent at all times ! Sometimes we are made dishonest by impractical laws themselves and this gives rise to corruption too !

Taxes charged have to be justified that they are needed as well as used well subsequently - And in most cases - everyone has forgotten about that point ! more
