AC trains only is not a good idea

I don’t understand why AC trains only are being started by railways. It is known that COVID-19 can be spread much faster through central air conditioning systems and 70-80% of cases in India are asymptomatic for a long period so will pass Thermal check get into train and infect others.

Then comes the whole question of affordability. Lower middle and even middle class cant afford travelling in ac.

Better to have 50% non ac and 50% ac.

I strongly suggest u consider doing polls before taking such decisions in your air conditioned offices. more

If Railways are really serious in moving migrant workers to their home town, then they should start non a/c trains which poor migrants can afford.Another point is native states should be ready to receive them with proper quarantine. more
People are stranded and this is a step to help them. Cooked food through pantry can be extended. more
Running AC trains with Rajdhani fare is nothing but a CIRCUS. That too with variable fare (on 20-21 May fare is about 1.5 times I have seen in Trivandram train) Just an eyewash to loot people in difficult time. There is no difference between Rail & Black-marketers now both taking advantage of situation. If so why Govt didn't open Air travel first, a more feasible option with just 2-3 hour mask protected movement with much better checking possibility at Airports, instead of 24-48 hour rail service at almost same price, Ridiculous!!! It has been proven that AC coaches are more dangerous than Non-AC. We all know what happened to Punjab travelers from Nanded. Mask etc is just an unproven shield, certainly not feasible for a 24-48 hours continuous serve. Unplanned Lock-down of 130 crore with 4 hour notice (as if it's a demonetization) itself was a blunder which might have delayed the spread temporarily (not a solution at-all) and crores of people with suffer economically/die with hunger. We have started seeing the fun already. In a country where 21 lac TB patients with lacs die every year (so don't see what happens in US/Italy) we are talking only of COVID alas!!. more
