ACCESS GST PORTAL TO TAX OFFICIALS

We are getting regular calls from local tax inspectors asking us to update them as to up to which months we have filed our GST returns GSTR1 and 3B.
Is it that they can not see that on the portal? and If they do not have access to this data on GST portal, how are they going to keep a tab on who is complying & who is not? more

dear friends, My question was not about whether we should comply or not the request about filing status. I wanted to know from learned members whether the tax officials can see on the portal who has filed their returns, if they know their GSTIN Number. and if NOT, how are they supposed to keep tab on the progress? more
I appreciate such a nice gesture and networking. It may be with the intention to help. more
YUP! our tax officer, a lady, has started a whatsAap group for all the companies in her charge. she does ask us to up date our filing status but also keeps informing us about various dead lines and tries to answer some of the queries from members more
sir a right question but at a wrong forum (place) For them to understand the nuisance of answering questions like this all dealers should go on and ask the department people the same question- have I filed my return? if so pl provide the details of same. Then they would realize the absurdity of their calls more
that's exactly the issue i wanted to address - Is it possible for the tax offiicial to see on the GST portal whether a certain GST holder has filed his return? more
It is regular process and your tax officers send notice to all clients irrespective of filing of returns or not? just ignore if have filed applicable returns !!! more
There is no need to respond to such calls. The reason for online submissions was to reduce human intervention to the extent possible and feasible. If there are issues with either of your filings, you will be served a notice. more
