Railway can have detailed discussions with Insurance companies of the country and request for tenders where we get lowest premium with better facilities. Any way travel insurance is required for reserved passengers at least. Off course, it can be made optional to the passengers. more
Main culprits are pass holders, railway employees and office goers with regular passes.. If railways make a rule that a pass holder is caught in a reserved compartment he will not be eligible for the concessional pass for at least minimum three years then most of the problem will be solved. General public very rarely enter into reserved compartments. Even if enter mostly they confine to doors. all the nonsence is created by pass holders. In the same way if railway employ is caught then give him a punishment. But TTTEs never do that. With the smart phones provide a link by means of which genuine reserved passengers can report against a TTE so that action will be taken in the next station. more
All you need is to ensure that you post Honest Policemen on trains and they will be no robbery more
We should collaborate with national insurence companies. more
The system of Railway claims at present is the question of time being ( for some cases) in addition Insurance claim is being added for the passengers accidental and lost baggage is a very good initiative and may be privatization. Wishing happy journey of all , the following thoughts will be beneficial. 1. Engagement of unemployed youths instead of large Insurance Co. 2. Maximum passengers are not aware of claim for their non education ( not literate ) , ill health , ICU / hospital , away from kith & kin , hence , in such cases Railway should initiate claim and complete its verification process in a stipulated time frame for final settlement. 3. Paper work / record keeping should be minimized and All India Railway E claim will be best for swift process. more
