---------- Forwarded message ---------- From: "J S Singh" Date: May 8, 2016 7:21 AM Subject: Surakshit & Safe Varanasi To: Cc: We reside in Rajeev Nagar Karaundi in building 5 (N4/11A-2-B-T). Opposite our house there is a three storey building ( people say it is illegal) with 12Apartments (owners name is Aniket). This building has a basement. The owner has rented this basement to some caterers and dera tambu wale. A back door has been opened just opposite our house. Truckload of labourers come for loading and unloading, park the truck at the back door of basement at all odd times, and some times spend the night sleeping on the truck just opposite our house. We are senior citizens and feel the danger, because we do not know whether the labourers are police verified. I had heard that commercial activity is not allowed in residential area but who is there to check? We objected several times but without any effect. JSSingh more
Objectionable site to be blocked in the kid to teenager children. more
Awareness program firstly for the parents & secondly for the children to be arranged which would include topics of general safety of children. more
Computer has been included in the school syllabus starting from class-IV. Let the internet also be included in the syllabus as a subject and the dos' & don'ts are exclusively explained in the class rooms with rationale, as the children are more tend to accept and follow the lessons they get from their teachers rather than their parents. All Cyber Cafes should be brought under purview of a stipulated code of conduct with provisions for stricter action against the violators and their activities must be kept under close surveillance. If at all access to internet by children in unavoidable, the parents should fix up a limited specific time for their children to use internet while they are present in the houses. By uttering the word child if we mean a child not beyond the age of 5 or 6 years then it is ok, otherwise todays' children of 7 years and above do posses adequate knowledge of operating an electronic device and are able to reopen the blocked sites comfortably. Hence, it does not matter whether their parents know to block any sites or not. Habit of books reading and attraction towards sports should be inculcated in every child from the beginning. more
