Addressing Employee Corruption
1. As per Labour laws & company rules governing the conduct of employees an enquiry needs to be instituted & if the accused employee is found guilty action /penalty be imposed as decided by the Disciplinary Authorities
2. The departmental vigilance team should be alerted to deal with such situations
3. Documentary evidence or visual evidence of the involvement of the suspected employees must be gathered
4. It should be brought to the notice of the C.E.O. immediately and disciplinary committee meeting should be conducted
5. This should also be brought to the notice of HR and legal department
6. Whether FIR /Legal notice is required to be given has to be assessed by the management depending on the seriousness of charges
7. If involvement is proven, then he should immediately be terminated from service
8. If an employee is terminated to unfair practices, then the amount can be recovered from him
9. A show cause notice could be served to the employee
10. If the organisation is a PSU, then it will fall under the jurisdiction of the CBI. If it is a state organisation, then Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB)
11. FIR can also be lodged under fraud or on leakage of sensitive information of the company
12. Money can be recovered expeditiously only if an arrangement is arrived at between the company & the employee. more
