Addressing Internet Trolling - Solutions

1. Strict laws should be set up to stop/limit internet trolling
2. Social media platforms should apply algorithms to stop trolling
3. All social media sites must only be real identity based so people are accountable
4. People should be educated about the ill effects trolling could have on the lives of others
5. Trolling could be brought under cyber crime
6. A mechanism to identify correct person who started the troll should be set up
7. The social media companies should work with the law enforcement agencies to minimize the cases of trolling
8. People should not participate in sharing of trolls
9. The person starting the troll should be identified once a complain comes to police
10. In case of a habitual offender, a strong warning should be issued along with account suspensions
11. If that doesn't correct the behaviour and, then legal action should be taken
12. There should be provision such that devices used for submitting the offending posts can be identified and all communications from the device should be suspended as per the offence grade. more
