Addressing Stray Dogs and Monkeys meneace
I wish to share some of the steps which may be taken to stop/minimise the growing population of the stray dogs and monkeys:
The Corporations must catch up these animals- (particularly the females) and sterilise on a regular
basis.
The Corporation must have mobile squads, separate for dogs and monkeys which should keep a constant vigil,
To manage the menace of the monkeys the Corporations must have the authority to out source the services of the keepers of "lemur (Langoor)" and provide this animal to the RWAs on rotation basis. Monkeys are very scared of this animal.
The authorities concerned must review the law on "Cruelty to Animals"; to enable people to ensure that the animals do not become menace.
I wish to state with anguish that the keepers( so called elite class) of the dogs as pet, do leave them to relieve their nature calls on the streets and roads, which make them dirty and unhygienic. There must be a law to control this practice. more
