Amitabh bachhan is propogating a pharma company,full page advt on front page.according to govt rules doctor can't propogate or advertise for pharma company but Amitabh can do? Is it justified? What does Amitabh know about pharma company.has he done free? more

The Question is "Who will Bell the CAT". There are several remedies BUT neither the Authorities initiate the same as there is "NO COMPLAINT received." And the common-man is so depressed in his day to day problems that he does not have corsage and energy to raise additional Problems. In case, anybody dears to do so, few Paid person will teach him a good lesson, in addition he will get chargesheeted for Social violence or some other provisions. more

Any Homeopathy and Ayurveda advertisements speak of availability of a medicine and its multiple uses. These doctors prescribe for similar problems different medicines after discussions with the patients as they are treating patients and not the diseases. In Allopathy the doctors do not treat the patients. They get the diagnosis through machines and treat the diseases. If patients get cured, it is their luck. This is my experience more

Professional ethics does not allow practicing professionals like Lawyers, Chartered Accountants, Doctors to go against the ethics laid down by the respective professional bodies. Pharmaceuticals and drug manufacturing companies don't have any such ethics to be followed in running their business. These companies in order to promote their business, they engage celebrities. This is done to en-cash their popularity. In my opinion, these types of Ads, which are especially observed in the areas of alternative medicines such as those covered under AYUSH, are encouraging self medication and motivating the people to consume the drugs with out even consulting a doctor. Though there are Acts like Drugs and Magic Remedies (Objectionable Advertisements) Act, 1954, that seeks to curtail undesirable advertisements pertaining to drugs and magic remedies, but these Acts are to be updated to take care of the present prevailing scenarios. Though Ministry of AYUSH, has taken some initiative and given strict warning to those drug manufacturing companies and T.V.Channels, unless strict legal rules are imposed and actions are taken, this kind of menace is not going to stop. more
