At present it is not possible to get details of any case pending or disposed of in any court in India on line. Legally it is not necessary to engage a lawyer in any case before any court.if you are capable, you are at liberty to conduct it yourself. more

I endorse your view.But to know the procedures, either you should do law in Diploma course or consult a good practicing senior lawyer before writing your plaint. You have to go to court regularly and should observe the proceedings by your self in person, and take down notes. This the first preliminary lesson for you.First you have to observe proceedings in the District Courts once a week for few hours. Madhu Ji you can file a case without engaging a lawyer. But it is to your benefit to do a research and meet 2-4 lawyers (having specializing pertianing to your area of dispute) and then meet them and ask questions. before this go onto google and you would come across similar cases and their verdict or situation - believe you would have questions which you could then ask the advocate or lawyer and the answers would be one of the enablers for you to hire a lawyer. If you want to fight a case - there are two aspects one should look at - the time period (average) and the cost (average). Both of which you should be able to find out (source meeting lawyers and your research on google) more
