AGONY CALLED TRAIN TRAVEL

While lot of importance is given to development and upkeep of stations, maintenance of trains leave a lot to be desired. I have just returned from a long distance journey. The toilets are dirty, doors do not close and stinks. This is the fate in AC coaches. Imagine the plight of sleeper and unreserved class. Signalling system is not maintained at all. Every other day it fails causing delay and hardship to passengers. For example, i have traveled continuously for the past 2 days . On ward journey delayed by 3 hours while return delayed by 2:45 hours with no explanation forthcoming from railways. There is no accountability . more

Both Punctuality and cleanliness of coaches are more important than introducing airport like facilities in a handful of stations! more
It is because of the changing of Railway policies. All on board and station cleaning was outsourced. Those days Indian Railway was taking 6 hours for the maintenance and cleaning of trains. Afterwards, maintenance and cleaning of trains was stopped to cut the Rail Budget and now, train is put in service to other route immediately after it reaches to destination without maintenance and cleaning. There is no any rest to any locomotive. Maintenance and cleaning of trains before putting in service to any route may be restored as before by their in-service or out-sourcing agencies. more
It is very shameful that despite increasing fares and new charges, IR has not improved it facilitates & maintenance. However, this can be definitely improved & they very well know how to do it. more
Maintenance of coaches is the area where still lot of work is to be done. Sleeper, AC class are alike. Pest more
