AIIMS withdraws VIP/MP notification

This is like social media at its best. For sure LocalCircles, Twitter played big roll in escalating this MP previlege issue and getting AIIMS to retract.

Win for common citizens!!! VIP culture reduced just a tiny bit.

Let us demand that AIIMS publish a list of all patients admitted through routine (No VIPS). If this number increases month over month, we are doing well. more

Anywhere ones goes one can find this culture which has been cultivated since so many years.looks like this is like a pandemic and may not end as long as we have people especially politicians.Corruption and vip culture goes hand in hand more
VIP culture is a bane to the nation. If Parliament can not eliminate it, may be Supreme Court will. But No one seems to be interested. more
I will not look at it as VIP culture. There are obvious advantages of MPs and VIPs coming to AIIMS. It is easy to get state of the art equipments with the help of VIPs which will benefit the common patients. The work culture of the staff will improve since a VIP may turn up any time. The cleanliness will be better. The state government hospitals deteriorated since the MLAs and ministers stopped going to government hospitals and patronized private hospitals. This is the worst VIP culture- neglected government hospitals for common man and state of the art private corporate hospitals for the VIPs. On 21 Oct 2022 8:22 pm, RN Chopra wrote: more
Excellent comment. However, all the commented points must be in practice with, or without, VIP's visits. We must strive to make a movement to maintain a high quality healthcare for all. If such cultural shift is wanting, VIPs may visit hospitals at random; I mean just visit to check. Besides, healthcare accessibility for the public will be reduced by VIP letters.

I believe the move to withdraw the healthcare arrangement by VIPs is first step in the right direction. more
Dear Sri Chopra, A routine reply saying that a letter designating a Duty officer for attending to sitting members of Parliament is withdrawn, will no way reduce the priority of attendance and treatment to them . Letter or no letter, it will continue, not only at AIIMS but also every where, where government intervention exists. I have never seen a political executive/person, whether be a Sarpanch or even local ruling party president stand in a queue like a common man to get a service. If that happens, it will become a news with publicity and proves an exception. more
