Airline Safety in India

I want LocalCircles to take up issue of airline safety in India.

Its heart breaking to see the scenes from calicut yesterday and today
Airlines are not safe in India and thats evident from the deadly crashes that we keep observing every few years and all the sudden landings that leads to people have fractures and permanent disabilities.

DGCA and aviation ministry are failed organisations. The aviation minister is clueless and should be made to resign. Dgca is not doing safety audits regularly. 14 done in 3 years. airlines themselves tend to cover up safety-related “occurrences" instead of reporting them, as they are required to.
When occurrences go unreported, and consequently uninvestigated, they can lead to incidents. Then there is the issue of raw un experienced pilots to top
It all up.

LocalCircles please take this up. While demand is low right now due to covid, it is a good time foR govt to Get its act together and fix things.

Others pls share your views. more

Entire lot of pilots have issues. The accident at Calicut seems to be suicidal in nature. Pilot changed the runway. Wheels you touched ground after 1km. Even then the brakes were not applied. The speed did not reduce. Plane went on running forward. Planned evasion. Suicidal. On Sat, 8 Aug, 2020, 22:22 Ashima Gupta, wrote: > more
Sometimes the Comments Like to appear like Expert Commentators Of cricket who is sitting in AC Cabin & talking about the strokes of Players , expressing his opinion that he should have did like this ,played like this ... that etc.etc. I mostly travelled by planes & AIR INDIA Pilots are more skilled than any one . They are very experienced and mature. you will not feel any shock during landing & takeoff. The pilots who died are very clever & they exhausted fuel in air & Kept engine OFF . During landing If there is a cross wind & tail wind then these mishap happened. If Plane is having back pushing air pressure then your brakes & Landing Spot get changed due to speed & On Table top strip, it is the Risk. The Only thing is the Improvement of Runway length with some hexagonal road , diverse " U " or "C " route to reduce the speed of plane. If the Land is required then apply special rights for acquiring the land without any Govt. politics . This is one of the major drawback of democracy . Sitting on one file for so many years due to various reasons. Every time You can not blame the pilot / drivers / Guard. more
The only saving grace here is the aircraft didnt catch fire ,which restricted the casualities . Yet 18 died and many severely injured . Particularly for the ones comming back home after months of separation from home. This is not the first one in the "Table Top Runway / Landing" . In the same Calicut landing strip there was another Air India aircraft suffered a Tail Strike last year . Even aa 3 year old was stranded searching for the parents and the Calicut police had sent the picture and contact number in the Social media. In 2010 , there was was another tragedy at Mangalore , another Table top Runway / Landing that took a toll of over 150 lives . Accidents do happen, due to many causes, but atleast after one the authorities could be more cautious. Needn't wait for the media to comment and & make the public lement . May the dead Rest in peace and the get well with least deformity . more
Pls. stop making such comments. Airlines are not safe in India. Highly irresponsible comment. Private players given participation. Domestic and International Air travel increased by leaps and bounds. Air travel became affordable. No. of airline choices increased. Because of one incident don't put a cross on entire industry. Each sector has its own set of unfortunate events. Should we shut all economic activity. More people die in road accidents than in air accidents. Weather had a major part to play on what happened in calicut. Still the brave pilot was able to avert a major disaster. there were round 189 people on board. Unfortunate some lives were still lost. may their soul rest in peace. more
The air/rail/road travel cannot be 100% accident free even if all possible precautions taken. For all mishaps, top man cannot be held responsible. Every organization is run through a system. Sometimes, human error, natural calamaties are solely responsible for the fatal accidents. However, upgradation and preventive maintenance of infrastructure can avoid many accidents. more
