Airline Timeliness is a scam

Recently my wife was travelling from Delhi to Bangalore. We noticed that the Indigo website was showing flight as arrived 30 minutes before the flight actually arrived.

Arrived means parked at the gate, right. Or does it mean the time pilot decides to touch down. What happens if a aircraft lands and take 15 extra minutes to arrive at gate. Are airlines allowed to mark that as on time arrival.

Also if an airline is manipulating timeliness data both the airline and the Ministry looks good. So other than consumers and platform like localcircles who else is interested in correcting this gaming? more

Normally the moment the plane lands they show Landed. Once it comes at the gate they show arrived. more
Indigo does a better job than SpiceJet, GoFirst or the iffy railways travelling DEL to BLR. Being this efficient in the subcontinent is no cakewalk. more
Actually the Airlines ate literally taking passengers hay and CRAZY. IF A passenger is late several pleads are not answer ed but if Airline delay it is OK ! No penalty no food /^ water is given, nothing! WHY ? At all times why should passengers suffer? Any sort of convenience given is charged extra ; so any Difficulty passengers face should they nnot be penalised? This matter should be taken I'm high priority more
Another silly post and you asking for government intervention that in a free non socialist country that we are today is uncalled for. This is the explanation: Flight time is defined by International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) as "The total time from the moment an aeroplane first moves for the purpose of taking off until the moment it finally comes to rest at the end of the flight", and thus includes time spent taxiing and performing pre-flight checks on the ground. But there are many factors that can change the arrival time. Some airlines like Delta and others it means,The moment that your plane pulls into the gate, not the time it touches down on the runway. First remember that it takes a person at a small airport with only carry on luggage about 30 minutes to get out the door after arrival and from a large crowded airports up to an hour. So please think about all these factors before you get upset when your wife does not arrive at the time you think she should. :) more
This is correct. I travelled by Air India from BLR to DEL. Departure is shown as when there is door closure for aero-plane and arrival as the touch down time on the runway. It took plane 25 minutes before it taxied at vestibule. more
