Airtel unfair trade practices
Airtel are adopting unfair trade practices. I have come across one incident repeatedly that when trying to port one no. from Trump(MTNL) to Airtel which is prepaid, I had been refused portability in prepaid and was advised by the person sitting in Airtel outlet that it cannot be ported in prepaid but only to post paid which can be again shifted to prepaid after a gap of 3-4 months as there are some verification to be done by the Company. And the funny part is post paid minimum charges are 299 per month even if u dont use internet or dont make calls. that only means that Airtel will be at least benefited by Rs.100/- on such portability as in prepaid connections they are providing less than 150 per month with 1.5Gb data as well as all free outgoing and no roaming.

I also had to port my post paid to post paid after 3 months postpaid to prepaid.If you have coverage of Vodafone in your area port in Vodafone.Airtel service is getting worse day by day.Tried to search the TRAI website for complaints did not find anything.Telecom Ministry is one of the worst performing ministries. more

My advise to you - do not port to Airtel. I did a mistake of porting my number from Vodafon to airtel considering Airtel as Indian Company. I have a very bitter experience with Air Tel now. They have activated my International Roaming without my request and unknowingly I used that service and now I got a big bill for that . At airport I took local SIM and was under impression that I am using local operator and was unaware that Airtel is also activated. They are here only to enhance their profits , that's all. They are least bothered for customer. more

I too had the bitter experience with Airtel. My postpaid connection was in Company name, monthly charges was 249 with no data and only 250 calls per month. Whereas for for unlimited calls and unlimited data same Airtel thanks to Jio is charging 150. So i waited for 2 years before thinking of porting, but Airtel did not allowed to port till number is converted from Company name to my personal name. Thereafter Airtel made me to wait another 3 months and said it is cooling period. In the brochure there was one plan of Rs. 199 , show room guy said that plan is not active. But the moment i said i will port after 3 months, customer guy called me and was ready to offer the same plan of Rs 199!!, but another catch I have to remain in the plan for 6 months minimum. I rejected and opted for 399 plan. First bill came for 399 , second bill came for 399+ GST= Rs 471. Where is the 98 plan of Jio and where is the 471 plan of Airtel. i was looted by Company called Airtel. Now when i typed Port , the Airtel customer care guy called within a minute. Request all Indians to type Port in ur mobile and avail due benefits from Airtel. more

First of all who ask you to goto airtel its a Bania company and their main motive is just profit & profit better to shift to Vodafone or Jio as idea is already out of this game they are merging with Vodafone so in India only 4 players will be controlling the telecom market Airtel , Vodafone, Jio and BSNL. more
