alcohol prices

i have been buying liquor from a nearby theka for the past 3 years . i have observed that he generally sells all his liquor costlier than the mrp specified, if asked he says it's because the prices are quite high in the state.
i know that most of you must be facing similar problem but no one will come up openly and speak on the topic as liquor is something we donot want to discuss. but as a customer , i feel cheated by it. what are your views? and what can we do? more

In the lifestyle of US and UK, drink is in need to save from acute cold. Hence, it may be their social custom and without which it may be questioned of their survival. Bharat is comparatively less cold that also in winter season. When many can survive without liquor in BHARAT, why not we. Habits may be changed with the change of mindset. Once we follow BABA RAMDEVJEE early in the morning in AASHTA TV Channel, the days are not far to keep away all the bad habits and develop good and healthy habit for our healthier and energetic lifestyle. Hope for the best. more
If someone is selling above the MRP that could be a crime, though some claim to add value and then I think the courts allow them to charge more. EG. star hotels etc. more
Mr. Sahil, was trying to solve his problem he is facing. He is getting advise to stop drinking. I do not blame anyone. May be with the best interest they write. I do drink occasionally. I do not believe it is a sin or will ruin my life. If I find I go beyond limit, I may stop. Dear friend, your shop keeper is cheating you. You buy from other shop and see the difference. No one is supposed to take more than MRP. Instead some sell at less than that. more
@ SUJIT DAS... do you think the people of Europe including Russia, Canada, United States, Australia, Mexico, New Zealand, all over South America including Brazil, South Africa and China (a well over 70% of world population in total) are not having a "normal lifestyle" because buying and drinking alcohol is socially accepted over those places? more
