Alcohol with MRP being sold above

Went to a restaurant recently and found that they are selling a 980 rupees (MRP) bottle of wine at 2800.

Are they doing the right thing. Is this not violating packaged commodity rule of selling above mrp or is anything allowed on alcohol.

Like clarification from Legal metrology officials. more

Did you happen to notice the Price after having a couple of rounds and finally settling the bill? From what I have observed, people who are boozedils know the price of their poison and would immediately take the hotelier to task..unless one is too drunk to put up a logical argument. :) more

Ms Puri, Alcohol is also a commodity which comes packed so has to be as per the MRP regulations. Mr Vyas, it is this taking it lying down attitude that has brought us to this state. Need to protest against all anomalies. Remedial action will happen albeit slow first and pick up speed later. more
