Alibaba buying Big Basket
I would like to take exception to the buying of Big basket by Alibaba of China. There was some discussion on how chinese products of sub standard quality shouldn't be allowed in India.
Now alibaba through paytm will have access to our banking/finance and soon by buying big basket will supply chinese food items to the Indian kitchen.
amazon and flipkart aren't into grocery and if the lone company (of some scale) gets acquired by alibaba, its a serious competitive threat.
Will the regulators look at this properly with eyes open. If I dont hear a response, I will take it to swadesh many rss and other organisations.
if deal looks clean and fine and with good objectives, it can go through but let it get proven. more

Boycott PAYTM & now also BIGBASKET as I do. Even at AMAZON, I check & ensure that the item I am buying has no connection with China. Unless you do this, you can go on crying for rest of your life. more

What is posted by Mr. Mohit Jain is 100% correct. If Alibaba is allowed then we may end up eating plastic rice, duplicate eggs and plastic cabbage etc. I never buy anything from Alibaba or any Chinese product. Theydon't really deserve to bein India. They are only behind money and without any business ethics. Hope our government will underStand and will not allow the Chinese products. more

Amazon is way better, and way cheaper than Bigbasket. But, then Amazon is American and if Alibaba buys Bigbasket it will go Chinese. more

Besides, both Flipkart & Amazon had gone into Vegetable/Groceries in a big way but Flipkart has stopped it for some reason while Amazon is really expanding it really fast .. Paytm is nowhere near Amazon so far !! more
