All about provident fund
See in developed countries the old people or senior citizens are eligible for two pensions. One is pension from the employee and another just old age pension. Why can't the Govt try to make available at least one monthly pension to all old persons either workers pension or old age pension.

If a senior owns a house/flat one can go for Reverse Mortgage to get lumpsome amount from bank in case of any emergency plus some amount of money regularly,one does not lose title,retains title and children can get back the house that has been reverse mortgaged after paying back the amount to the bank with interest.Property prices are going up,a senior during his/her life time can utilize the money they earned to make this house. more

Government has long back transferred its responsibility to surviving son/s or children. If they had any intention of this welfare measure long back they would have included in the socialist manifesto. Recently fromRs100/- to Rs 200/- and last year for senior citizens it has been enhanced to Rs1000/- for all in unorganized sector, including widows. It is most painful to get the money from government. more

In today s circumstances son or daughter does not matter. The issue is whether Govt should give old age pension. I would say Yes it is a very good suggestion. Govt should formulate a policy suiting India and implement it. more
