All eateries must be FSSAI certified

You can take a screenshot of this post and show it to any un-hygienic eatery not maintaining cleanliness standards and not having FSSAI certificate.

The apex regulator has stated that such FBOs are liable to be penalised under the following Sections of the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006:

Section 58: Penalty for contravention for which no specific penalty is provided, wherein FBOs operating without a registration certificate are liable to pay a penalty upto Rs 2 lakh.

Section 63: Punishment for carrying out a business without a license. Such FBOs shall be punishable with imprisonment for a term upto six months and with a fine upto Rs 5 lakh. more

We have no dearth of laws and provisions on papers but the law breakers are smarter than the law makers who are too lethargic to act as per the provisions of the laws. Moreover, none of our laws are free of loop holes facilitating to escape from its tongs. more
National Medical Commission along with Medical education, should also Inspect from time to time functioning of all hospitals (Both Private and Govt,) with respect to facilities, charges and cleanliness. more
FSSAI is a big jhoomla in real terms. The main issues faced by us is adulteration of foods like milk, vegetables and fruits(which is totally neglected by authorities),unhygeinic sorroundings of roadside and other eateries (they function and sell food without even any license.leaving aside all these challenges the officials only focus on License holders who deal with all the licensed products and extract bribes in the name of FSSAI. This is sheer high handedness by officials. Most of the laws are unpractical, non transparent and outdated . more

Media has already done their duties by reporting incidents of food poisoning, unsafe food but it hardly had any effect on the enforcement and monitoring authorities. Only hope on Apex court only. more
Only media if approached can start a series against the FSSAI. more
