Allotment of Berths
It is not possible to allot lower birth to every passenger. But below are some of the solutions:
1. Normally every body avoid upper birth because of the height of the birth. This problem can be minimized by specially designing II-Tyre sleeper coaches for senior citizens, physically challenged and middle aged women and 3 to 4 such coaches should be added in the train. While allotting birth in these coaches no concession should be offered so that only needy passengers will travel in these coaches and the income of railway will not be affected.
2. In most of the trains 1st class coaches are removed but it should be reintroduced with competitive fare.
3.Births are required only for night journeys. So, to reduce 1 night journey the time schedule and speed of the long distance trains should be revised such that it reaches the destination station by evening 6:00 'o' clock instead of very early morning the next day.
4. At least one second class chair car coach should be attached to the train only for day time travelers. more
