In the packaged drinking water case the Supreme Court of India has ruled in favor of the restaurants that they can sell above MRP because of their investments and recurring expenditures on better ambiance, which they have to recover. After that I lost all steam against MRP. First: There is no technical and economic basis of fixing MRP. It is arbitrary. And the Second: And the merchants are allowed to sell above MRP because of various considerations. Then what we discuss and how do we get our grievance redressed? We are clearly told, we shall not have such grievances. These grievances are frivolous. more

Can we argue with our local bania, read trader about price issues? How many Aunties are willing to pick up a fight with the local grocery shop owner adept at Hoarding everything from onions to poor quality of daal rice etc? Amazon may not be reading the comments I have been relying on Amazon, Amazon Prime Videos, Amazon pantry and Grofers for fresh vegetables and fruits It's a great relief to get quality products delivered at home Who is asking to go for branded stuff? There are enough malls to get quality products as desired. Is our local grocer paying GST to the government, from the money he charges from us as hidden charges? And local delivery boys too are Made in India because they're trained in mannerisms The terms are relative. If one wants a refund for poor quality of stuff. Will the local shopkeepers do it for us? Will Aunties dare to Approach the shopkeepers for refund? At Amazon, though rarely refund has been easy At Grofers, if an item is out of stock, the team makes sure that the amount is refunded asap or added to the account Change is here Only we people are refusing to acknowledge it through fault finding more

DEAR SARIKA: THE PROBLEM IS NOT WITH MNCs LIKE AMAZON OR FOR THAT MATTER, ANY MNC OPERATING IN INDIA. THEY HAVE ONE SET OF RULES FOR OPERATING IN USA AND EUROPEAN COUNTRIES AND ANOTHER "WATERED DOWN RULES" WHILE OPERATING IN AFRICAN AND MANY ASIAN COUNTRIES SPECIALLY INDIA. IN INDIA THE ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES ARE SO BUREAUCRATIC AND LETHARGIC THAT THE MNCs ARE WELL AWARE THAT THERE IS ZERO SAFETY RULES AND LEAST NUMBER OF RESTRICTIVE PRACTICES. HENCE, IT IS "LAISSEZ FAIRE".....!!.. THE PROBLEM LIES WITH US..!!.. more
