Amazon

Amazon does not behave in an ethical manner but expediently. An order placed 3 times with them for a certain consumer item was not delivered under false pretences. The product is advertised on their website and consumers are induced to order more to avoid delivery charges. I have sent them a legal notice and am keen to follow up with a class action suit for 'deficiency of service' and 'unfair trade practice', if there are others who have been unfairly dealt with by this International behemoth. Incidentally, you cannot call any number in India to complain. You have to request them to call you. The calls are through a call centre bounced by numbers in London or Ireland. How does the government allow an international consumer product supplier to insulate itself from rendering ethical consumer service more

There should be call center in country where it is operated. more
Amazon has best customer service. Most other ecommerce sites are pathetic. more
The Govt. has notified that all selling organisations on e-platforms have to display the "Country of Origin" so that the buyer can choose/avoid product of specific country. But I don't find any product where country of origin is displayed. The govt. has issued notices to Amazon and Flipkart on this (as per yesterday's TOI). Now it is for people to enquire about the country of origin of the product before ordering. This is more relevant for electronic goods...... more
I am not a regular customer on e-commerce sites. But, please allow me to share two incidents with you...... about Amazon only. 1. Over 8 months ago, I ordered 5 pieces of "surgical chairs" from Amazon. It's a foldable, extremely light chair. Most helpful for senior people, they can unfold it and sit down either while taking a walk or while playing golf, or if they feel like relaxing in their own backyard. I had prepaid for five pieces, delivered were only two. Amazon does have a window for complaints like these. You even call you back instantly and try to solve the problem there and then. In this particular case they asked for a period of 2 - 3 days for them to revert. They did. The supplier admitted, they had only two pieces in stock at that time. Amazon offered to return the excess amount paid to them, and they did. 2. Two weeks ago I ordered a clothes storage wardrobe.....from Amazon. While assembling it, it was found that one rod was missing. I repeated the exercise as under 1 above. Within ten minutes the girl on phone in the claim section came back with the solution. They cannot send one part, but shall send a fresh complete replacement. It arrived yesterday. They took back the old product. These two incidents can be really impressive. But then, not everyone can have such good luck !! more
Good initiative. We must do this but many tolerate such shortfalls.I placed an order for Havels torch with one year warranty. Within 1 month it failed to recharge. Called Amazon they kicked iOS to contact Havels. Havels said this product doesn't come with warranty. I send a screen shot finals they said it's not their product I asked them then they are keeping quite about the sales in Amazon. After s long fight they agreed to replace. In India unless you fight for your rights nothing moves. Congrats on your initiative. more
