An Appeal to Chairman TRAI
Sir,
We wish to bring the following issues to your kind attention in connection with TRAI order on Cable/DTH TV:
1. TV is being used by poor people for education, news and entertainment. Therefore 18%GST is a very heavy burden on poor citizens. Kindly advise GST Council to exempt TV viewers from 18%GST. This step of government will be appreciated by all citizens.
2. The Cable TV operators are trying to fleece the consumers by very high charges for popular TV Channels. It is an accepted fact that all TV Channels are earning a huge amount through advertisements aired along with popular serials. In a 30 minute program more than 10 minutes are used to air advertisements. Therefore we are suggesting the MRP for each channel for various categories of broadcasters.
3. Standard Definition channels of following should be Free:
I) Infotainment Channels
II) KIDS
III) Hindi News
IV) English News
V) Businesses News
VI) Music
VII) Spiritual
IX) DD Channels
4. Standard Definition Channels of the following categories should have MRP a of Rs. 5/- month:
I) General Entertainment Channel (GEC) Hindi & English & Regional Languages
II) Movies Hindi & English
III) Lifestyle
IV) Sports
5. The High Definition Channels should have MRP of Rs.7.50 per month. more

FOR THE PROBLEMS OF DTH/MOBILE CONNECTION, CONSUMER COURT IS THE ONLY SOLUTION. NO ONE IS GOING TO LISTEN YOU AND CORRECT THE THINGS IN FAVOUR OF COMMON MAN. RECENTLY THESE MOBILE COMPANIES CLOSED THE LIFE TIME VALIDITY AND FORCED ALL THE 100 CRORES CONSUMERS TO RECHARGE THE MOBILES EVERY 28 DAYS FOR 50/- THUS LOSS OF 5000 CRORES PER MONTH TO PUBLIC AND GAIN TO MOBILE COMPANIES. NOTHING COULD BE DONE BY TRAI BEING ONE OF THE GAINED PARTY. SIMILARLY THERE ARE 50 CRORES OF DTH CONNECTIONS. EVERYONE IS FORCED TP/O PAY 150-200/- AS NCF CHARGES, WHICH WERE NOT EARLIER.THUS AGAIN LOSS OF 5000 CRORES PER MONTH TO COMMON MAN AND GAIN TO THESE DTH COMPANIES. more

Sir than who is responsible? Is it not the Central Govt. You are absolutely right about TRAI hand in glove with D2 h service providers. I sent hundreds of Tweets to CHAIRMAN AND HUNDREDS TO TRAI even to CNBC Channel alongwith hundred of e-mails to all officials of TRAI.
