I want to bring to notice that Airtel DTH and may be all other dth providers are looting consumers through low quality additional equipments like remote controller or adaptor provided with set top box. Firstly, they provide consumer with a set top box which does not have any hard buttons to change channels or volume. These can only be controlled by remote controller. Secondly, the quality of these remotes is very low grade and it automatically gets faulty after 4-5 months of use. Airtel does not provide any warranty on these additional items, nor do they provide any bill for remote purchase. Moreover, while their cost list shows remote controller cost as 170/-, they are charging 220/- for the same and do not provide bill or any warranty. Consumer has to spend 220/- every 4-5 months. I tried to bring this to notice of TRAI but no success as TRAI website does not have any consumer friendly e mail.They only divert you to respective service provider website. I have written many mails to airtel customer care but they never reply to such mails. I wonder what can be further done to stop such anti consumer business practise? more
It is not only the mine issue which needs to be solved but the rules have to be framed to keep all customers fairly treated. Everyday new corruption case comes before the residents. Agreed. the steps suggested can be taken by each affected individual. As for change or make a new rule, it is up to the Government or Consumer Affairs Department. NGOs and Local circles should pressurise the authorities for making such a change. Meanwhile, use of Airtel be discontinued, opt for othe DTH service and Broad band of BSNL. more
Pl. complain to the Legal Metrology dept. of your city against the Airtel for charging extra than MRP plus refusal to issue any cash memo/bill. And if your are not satisfied with the quality , service and cost of the Airtel or Vd2h then change your operator . Yes, Trai does not have provision to take cognizance of your complaint, but it monitors all record. You may find what reply Airtel sent to TRAI on your complaint, under RTI application . more
Unfortunately Airtel has either monopoly or hand in glove with the builders in Gurgaon so we get only Airtel connection for Broadband. How about other service providers service? We need to fight the battle so that the citizens are treated fairly. Let us not give it up. Rules need to change. more
