Anti-Corruption offices -a wasted opportunity

Nothing against any individual but in last 6 years, I have formed an opinion that most anti corruption offices in india are a wasted opportunity

We have CVC, state Acb's state Lok ayuktas and probably some other bodies too.

These bodies isolate themselves from general public and work in vacuums. Even a body lik transparency Intl fails to engage them in fighting corruption.

How can this change. Or can it. If these bodies exercise their power and decide to act, it could lead to such a nice ground level clean up

Puzzling thing is that even central govt is not shaking up these bodies

The only body that one ever hears off doing something is CBI. Why so.

CBI should be like FBI. Everything else from municipal corruption to police and from Zilla panchayat to power corporation should be handled by these offices.

This circle needs to find some media partner who wants to make a name and start broadcasting our views because it's just not going to happen with these offices.

Transparency intl may comment on their experiences on why they have failed to engage with these bodies. more

The root cause of all these is political pollution. Unless swacha bharat abiyan is conducted in politics no betterment is possible. unfortunately that decision also will be taken by politicians only. Pollution not only in leaders, it is in voters also. As long as voters are biased nothing will change. Even educated voters are biased while voting . No clue. more
People have awareness in the matter and they are ready to uproot the corruption. We should not pay the bribes at all to the Corrupted officers. If there is no alternate then we should inform to the ACB. If every citizen of India decide not to pay bribe the nobody can persuade in the matter. more
One police officer in K-10 Koyembedu Police Station, Chennai is a highly corrupt person. His name is L.Madhavan ( on his shirt badge). Everyday, he goes in the morning on his police bike to collect "Hafta Money" from various roadside vendor in Chinmayanagar, Stage-1 and adjoining area. He also takes breakfast, lunch and dinner from varios restaurants in our area and walks off without paying any bills. Many policemen of Koyembedu K-10 police station has this habit of eating food, tea and juices in various shops in our area, and walk off, without paying the bill. Why, does the Tamilnadu government is not paying them any salary ??? We request the Senior Police Officers of Tamilnadu to stop this "HAFTA" collection practice of Koyembedu K-10 Police Station, Chennai, Tamilnadu. more
Unless we Indians change to be ethical, patriotic, responsible citizens, nothing will change for better in this country. If we elect right people with a right to recall, many reforms can be brought in all fields which can resolve all problems being faced in our country. I am getting tired of my every day efforts n comments. more
I agree with Mr Rao. The Right to Recall, as is prevalent in Switzerland, is a must if we want to get rid of all the murderous goons in Parliament today. Only then will we have people there who are really interested in the affairs of the nation. more
Mr. Aseem Das's views are worth brooding over. There has to be a single All Powerful Authority to hook up all such dilly dallying bodies and make them accountable for the actions taken by them against eliminating / taking appropirate actions taken by them against the complaints lodged with the respective authorities . more
